Uplifting and Convicting

"In light of this, ministers who have small stipends but good people should not weary or be discouraged.  They have more cause to bless God than to be grieved, for they are far better off than those who have high stipends but evil people.  As for those to whom God has been so good as to give them adequate livings and a willing and well-disposed people, let them think themselves doubly blessed by God, and treble bound to honour him and to do good in his church.  If such men do not excel their brethren in ministerial care and duty, their fault is above all men and they are unworthy of such great mercies."
